Article abstract
Luteal-phase defect is associated with several gynecologic diseases and can be treated with ovulation-inducing agents, progesterone supplementation, and gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists [1–3]. It has been recognized that mud applications promote increases in progesterone and estradiol concentrations in women with normal and women with insufficient hormonal functioning of the corpus luteum [4]. Routine intravaginal pelotherapy involves time-consuming techniques and special facilities. The aim of the present study was to determine the efficacy and relative safety of an intravaginal gel—designed for outpatient use—prepared from Dead Sea peloid in women with luteal-phase defect.
